2004 Harley-Davidson Sportster XL883

Well I'm back on a Harley again. Hell yeah! I found what I had always wanted...a brand new, bone stock, no frills, solid black Harley-Davidson Sportster XL883. I have been bugging the hell out of Earl at Harley Davidson of Central Mississippi since 1990, and promised one day I would buy a new bike from him. Well I finally came through. This should be fun...bought the last week of June 2004, and put my first 1000 miles on it the next week. Tommy, Camilla, and I took the 3 bikes (Tommy's GSXR-1000 and Camilla's CBR600RR) from Starkville to Memphis to Nashville over the 4th of July weekend. Lots of fun...many more trips to be taken-

Here's the bike on the floor of the dealership the day I found it...picking it up that weekend...
4th of July weekend road trip to Memphis and Nashville...at the Memphis Mariott, sitting out the 80MPH storm that blew through on Sunday...somewhere on the Natchez Trace on Monday...
This is what Blacky will look like with headlight and chin fairings...I've got big plans for the little Sporty, and will build a latter day incarnation of the infamous 1977 XLCR1000, Harley's factory cafe racer. However, I'm gonna do it my way, and add a dash of British flavor, ala Vincent, Norton, BSA and Triumph. Rear set foot controls, headlight fairing, alloy road race gas tank, drag bars...
Practicing my photography here in Starkville...and with Heather...
