SOLD July 3, 2004
FOR SALE- 1976 Porsche 914-4 $6500 OBO, 2.0 liter, 5-speed trans., red with black interior. Last year for the 914. Engine and trans. rebuilt approximately 20K miles ago, new brakes and rotors under 10K miles ago. Car currently shows 147K+ mi. on odometer. Aftermarket DPD air conditioning kit installed, but needs to be charged. AC motor works fine. All lights/signals/wipers/horn work fine. Holley/Weber carburetor is currently on car, but have original FI set-up, as well as 2 targa tops. This is a clean, clean little 914. Excellent paint and body. Paint has been color sanded and polished. Not a show car, but very presentable and better than most. Interior is in great shape, no rips or tears on seats. Dash has an aftermarket dash cap installed. The car runs and drives excellent, tracks and brakes straight. You can drive this car anywhere. Trans. shifts fine, second gear can make a little racket if clutch isn't depressed all the way. Doesn't smoke at all, but will drip some oil if it sits for a while. I bought this car from a friend of mine who was in the midst of a financial crisis, and bought it at the same time I was financing a new Mercedes ML350. I added enough $ onto the note to buy the car to help him out, but I myself need to sell it. I had gone with my friend to inspect it for him last year when he bought the car in Columbus, MS from Chuck Bigelow, a Porsche nut and owner of the Columbus Marina. Chuck had owned it for over 15 years, and had performed all of the restoration work. He had bought it in Atlanta, GA from Automobile Atlanta, the Porsche experts. Check out their website, and look at the 914's they have. Chuck kept the car garaged for the 15 years he owned it. The pictures speak for themselves. I'll take a few more this week with the car on a lift, as well as with the top and windows up. There is a small crack on the windshield on the driver's side, right on the A-pillar. Also, the driver's side exterior door handle is cracked, and you have to push down against the housing as you pull the handle to open the door. The inside latch works fine. The "S" in the Porsche script on the engine lid came loose, but I have it. Other than that, it's a trouble-free 914. Call or email me if you have any questions that this doesn't answer. |
