1967 Cadillac Deville convertible- 429 cubic inch engine, Turbo 400 auto trans., Flamenco red with white interior (red trim) and black convertible power top. Car has PS, PW, PB, AC (not hooked up), twilight Sentinel, and power seat (it works). The car is originally from Houston, TX, and has the original Protect-O-Plate affixed to the front fenderwell. It sold 3 years ago for $10,000 to a college student here at MSU, who drove it without incident from Houston, TX to Starkville, MS. He had a $1500 CD system installed, which included speakers in the kickpanels, a pair in the rear speaker grille, and a pair of subs in the trunk. It sounds great. Unfortunately, he neglected the car and let the paint and interior deteriorate. He had a new top installed 2 years ago, as well as had some transmission work done to it by a local shop here in town.

I bought the car in September 2004 and have used it almost daily. I had it inspected and tagged, applied for a new title, and had new wheel cylinders and brake lines installed on the front brakes. I also began color-sanding and polishing out the oxidized paint. At some point, the car had been repainted a metallic red close to the original Flamenco Red, which was not a metallic color. It was an amateur paint job, but it shines up pretty good. There are a few bubbles from poor adhesion (not rust) in the paint. There are a few waves in the body, but it's a solid car. I stripped out the interior and have re-dyed most of the interior pieces back to their original colors. The seats had previously been recovered in vinyl in the original pattern, and they had several tears which were taped over. They cleaned up OK, but still have the tears covered up. The floorpans are solid, and I rust-proofed them before I installed new sound deadener and carpets. I also installed new weatherstrips in the quarter windows.

The top is 2 years old, and works and seals fine. There is a small half-inch tear at the base where it joins the trim. The windows and windshield are all in good shape, with no cracks or chips. They all go up and down, but the rears are slow, and the door glass could use slight adjustment. All the motors work, and I have a pile of spare parts.

The car drives great, and literally drives like a Cadillac. I regularly drive it to West Point, MS, and it cruises at 70 all day long. It runs cool, tracks and brakes straight, and fires right up every time. The engine doesn't smoke, and I have yet to add a quart of oil to it. It's very quiet on the road too.

These are pics the day I brought it home in September 2004-
after buffing the hood!
various restoration pics-
I will add more pictures of the engine compartment and under side. I am beginning to detail the engine compartment, and the price is subject to change depending on what else gets done to the car! I currently have a standing offer from a buyer back in Texas, but he won't be able to complete the transaction until January 2005. I need to sell the car to make room for a new project, so if you are interested, come check it out and make me an offer! NADA values are from $6000 for a piece of crap to $19,000 for a show pony, so mine falls right in the middle. I am including the $1500 CD system and lots of spares, including extra fender skirts. I am asking $9500 OBO-
Car is located in Starkville, Mississippi, 2.5 hrs. SE of Memphis, TN, 2 hrs W of Birmingham, AL, and 2 hrs N of Jackson, MS.
